UWB Tag with Apple's Nearby Interaction Framework

I’m new to the Estimote SDK and have a question about using the Estimote UWB tag (not the UWB beacon) with Apple’s Nearby Interaction Framework.

From this forum post: UWB Beacons and UWB Tags, I understand that Estimote UWB Beacons use the FiRa protocol, allowing them to interact with Apple devices.

However, since UWB Beacons are no longer available and Estimote now only offers UWB tags, does this mean the UWB tags cannot interact with Apple’s Nearby Interaction Framework?

because the tag can be anchor or tag , it cannot be the Apple Nearby Accessory
different firmware
it is probably running FIRA ( as both roles are possible) and Apples stuff is not that

UWB Tags (pebble shape) and UWB Beacons (rock shape) have the same radio/chip.

The main difference is firmware and applications/use-cases they serve.

UWB Beacons (rock shape) are mostly to act as stationary beacons “telling” the phone their ID and precise distance. They talk to FiRa/UWB-enabled phones and here are sample SDKs:

UWB Tags (pebble shape) have more use-cases. They can programmed in JavaScript and they can act as BLE beacons, they can range over UWB wich each other. They can even talk to Cloud via LTE. But with JavaScript-firmware they cannot range with FiRa phones at the moment.

Of course for larger orders we do a lot of different permutations and we offer different customers with custom form-factor, firmware, software, hardware.

So the best way to get started is to try Dev Kits and then speak with our team about your domain-specific use-case.
