I want to write an app for finding lost items. I use Xamarin and tried out the component. Pretty extensive and awesome, but when I tried it on another beacon I could not get it to work even though I changed the UUID. Does the SDK filter only estimote beacons or did I just make a mistake in my app?

I'm afraid our SDK was not meant for other brands of beacons, so as much as it might work with them, it doesn't have to. I'm sorry if it's not what you planned, but our beacons have some features that others don't (accelerometer, temperature sensor, security layers), so we have to support our product in the first place.
