Is location beacon rechargeable?

hi,
And I am currently working on an Indoor Navigation System using Estimote Location Beacon and I want to ask a few questions.

  1. Is the beacon rechargeable or not ? If yes, how can we recharge it?
  2. If it is not rechargeable, is there another way to recharge it without replacing the battery ?

  1. Beacon is not rechargeable since it is using lithium cells (not lithium-polymer or lithium-ion). See beacons specs here.
  2. You can use GPIO port to provide external power source. You can find more information in this thread.

Or you can replace the three CR123A batteries in the uwb beacons(and the other kinds as well, i.e. nearables use a cr20 battery{the same one thats on a PC motherboard}). And they are like new, i have tested this theory and replaced the batteries in my location beacons.
