Intermittent beacon detections — code review

Hi Piotr
I have a similar problem, but with an app that has already been deployed. Is it possible to have someone review the code in my app to see if it is correct and then it may be the backend not working correctly?
Thanks
Brett

I assume that by “a similar problem”, you mean that your beacons are not detected? Probably best if you open a new topic, and include your code that sets up the Proximity Observer, and share how your beacons/tags are organized. Does it work locally/in-development, and not in the production app, or does it not work at all?

Hi Piotr

Thanks for getting back to me, very much appreciated.

I had an app developed, iBernie, where when a beacon is detected an Entry message appears, and after a prescribed time an Exit message appears. You can download the app to have a look but the content will be empty as a limit of 30km has been applied.

The issue I have is that the app detects the beacon, as can be seen by the visit count in the Estimote back-end, but the messages appear intermittently. The dev claims it is an sdk/beacon issue and what I would like is for someone who is very experienced with Estimote beacons to have a look at the app to see if the code has been implemented correctly….that way I will know the issue is with the back-end they have developed. The dev has also said to me that they did think the problem was that the beacon wasn’t detected, so you can see I am in a bit of a pickle!

I did have some emails with Katarzyna Kawa a few weeks ago, I have been on a holiday, I have tried to email her and use the info@estimote and contact@estimote email addresses but they bounce back to me a spam???

Any suggestions? Does Estimote offer a review service?

Thanks

Brett.

We do offer professional services—it’d be best if you could get through to contact@estimote.com for a conversation about that. Not sure why it bounces, I can’t see anything from you in spam. Maybe try another email address?

Hi Piotr

I just tried a different email address, and it bounced back.

I have tried both the contact and info addresses.

Can someone from Estimote contact me and then I can reply to their email?

Thanks

Brett

I left a note with the team.

Maybe you could get your developer join us here, and we could do a little troubleshooting. Do you happen to know if you’re using Estimote’s Proximity SDK in your app, or iBeacon, or something else still?

Hi Piotr

Sorry for the delay, I was on a lovely vacation.

I will get in-touch with the developer and see what we can arrange.

Thanks
Brett
