beacon.getName returns "estimote" even though each beacon has been given a unique name on the cloud. This problem does not occur in the iOS sample app. I noticed there is no option to provide an app id or app token and it is not possible to update beacon properties from an android device- so i presume this is related?

Hi Brian,
Your assumptions are right. It is not possible to connect with Estimote Cloud using our Android app which means the features are limited to changing major & minor values, advertising interval and broadcasting power of your beacons.
