Hi, I have found this topic from 4 months ago https://community.estimote.com/hc/en-us/articles/201371053-Do-Estimote-Beacons-Incorporate-a-Security-Mechanism-
in that topic there was an estimation of two months to have a security layer available. Any word about it? Maybe I'm wrong but I cannot find anything in the web about it.

Apart of this, how are you managing the security issues. Ok, we can change the proximity UUID, but how are you preventing that anyone can change it? Any ideas about a security framework/architecture?

Hi Diego,

We’ve already rolled out the first layer of security for our beacons, designed to prevent unauthorized access. There’s more on that on our blog: http://blog.estimote.com/post/87918401035/firmware-update-activating-accelerometer-temperature. However, that’s just the beginning. In the coming weeks we’re planning to put much more emphasis on security and encryption and release further updates.
