How to Retrieve OS version

Hello,

I wanna know that if we want to retrieve the OS version of phone how can we retrieve OS or ID of the phone. someone installed estimote app in phone.when he or she is in range of estimote then beacon will activate & send the range to server. I wanna retrieve OS of phone . When phone will send detail or notification at the same time i need to retrieve the OS. Which method is suitable for estimote app. Is there any WSDL file.
