I updated the indoor location app from 1.5 to 1.7 and the purple +Add new location button does not appear anymore.

As you’ve noticed we never supported neither mapping tool nor normal positioning mode for iPad and iPod families. Unfortunately we didn’t communicate it clearly.
In 1.7 we introduced second positioning mode (you can read in details about it here: http://blog.estimote.com/post/138219363685/larger-better-faster-stronger-estimote-indoor) that is more suitable for larger locations for iPhones and is the mode for iPads and iPods.
