Time to detect a large number of beacons

Can anyone reference real world experiments to determine how many unique beacons can be detected per second by an Apple or Android device?

Let's say all beacons are set to advertise once a second at max power. How many beacons can be in the room? What are the characteristics of the time of detection curve if we plot number of beacons on one axis and time to detect them all on the other?

thanks for any pointers.
