STEPS for implementing / Communication with beacons in android

Hi Guys,

I new to this beacons , I am very much interested to develop/ prototype some applications using the beacons.

How to start developing application for Android using Windows machine?

I am a Native Android developer, So i have set up for android development environment (Eclipse, Android SDK ).

I have couple of beacons with me already, there is no proper documentation or Steps for setting up the environment to play with beacons.

In the websites it only says about IOS SDK files , Is there any SDK / Libraries to import to android application. We need a MAC for developing APPS for the beacons?
