Nearable Gyroscope Confusion

Hello, I have been playing with the stickers and have read that the Nearables do have Gyroscopes. However, I have also read that rotating the stickers a certain way will change the values of the xyz accelerometer readings. I would love some clarification on this topic because both can’t be true.

Estimote Stickers don’t have gyro—is this something you’ve read in our resources, or some 3rd party ones?

The accelerometer in stickers is just a regular 3-axis accelerometer. Not exactly sure what you have in mind with “rotating the stickers a certain way will change the values of the xyz accelerometer readings”. There will be a change in acceleration while you’re rotating the sticker, and also if you change the sticker’s orientation, you’ll observe the Earth’s gravity/acceleration reflected on a different axis, but all of that is simply reflecting the changes in acceleration as measured by the accelerometer.

Thanks heypiotr,

I saw talk about gyroscopes on the Estimote forums and just assumed it came with the Stickers. Having Gryoscope would have played a big role in my app. I thought the stickers being able to tell which way is up, down, left, or right was included but I failed to do my research. I might now a workaround on this limitation though.
