How to use the Beacon Storage API?

Hi there,

I bought the new Location Beacons because I’m interested in using the Beacon Storage API you advertised in your blog post a while ago. Now I’m trying to figure out how to use it. I can’t find any option to set the value in your app or the cloud as well as anything in the SDK (Android) to access this data. Am I missing something or is this feature not yet implemented?

Manuel

Hi @mahermen!

Great to hear that you’ve just purchased the new Location Beacons! Beacon Storage API on Android will be available with the new Estimote SDK 0.14.0 that is going to be launched early next week! Stay tuned!

So, the 0.14.0 beta was relased last week, but it says in the code example you need firmware version 4.9.0+ to use the storage API. Any insights when this might be released?

It’ll be there in the upcoming update to the Estimote iOS and Android apps, we expect them to hit the App/Google Play Stores later this, or early next week. Thanks for your patience! (:

Hi there,
where is Estimote SDK for Android 0.14.0? On GitHub, I still see version 0.13.0…
I would like to test the new Storage API on Android…

Also, will the Storage API be available for the standard range location beacons (hardware revision F2.3)?

Cristiano

It’s on the “beta” branch in our Android SDK repo:

And yes, Beacon Storage API is available with firmware 4.9.0 for all Location Beacons :raised_hands:
