Hi Fred,

Could you please develop your question? If you are wondering if the beacons can be swtiched off the answer is no - Estimote Beacons arrive switched on and can not be completely switched off. There is no power button.

Thank you for you reply. In iOS, I want to test the api
-(void)beaconManager:(ESTBeaconManager *)manager didExitRegion:(ESTBeaconRegion *)region.
If it can not be switched off, the only way is walking away beyond 70m?

There are 2 solutions for that:

  1. You can reduce signal range with our SDK or
  2. you can set different notifications for each of the zone: immediate, near and far - you can set different notification for each of the zone

If you have a microwave oven near you, it is a good faraday cage.
Put the beacon inside (DO NOT TURN THE POWER ON OF COURSE !), close the door, and within a second, the beacon should disappear from the view of your apps...
