Help Needed: Cloud API Rate Limit Exceeded Error

Hey everyone,

I’m running into a bit of an issue with my Estimote setup and was hoping to get some advice from the community. Recently, I’ve been getting an error message that says “Cloud API Rate Limit Exceeded.” I’m not exactly sure what’s causing this, but it’s been happening more frequently, and it’s starting to mess with my workflow.

A little background: I’m using Estimote Beacons to track real-time data, and I’ve integrated it with a couple of third-party services. Everything was running smoothly until I started seeing this rate limit error. I haven’t made any major changes recently, so I’m scratching my head a bit here. When I was searching about this I came across these resources/articles Beacons, how do they work? - Estimote Developer mulesoft interview questions and as per them I tried troubleshooting but didn’t get any solution.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so, how did you go about resolving it? Are there any tweaks or settings I should look into to prevent hitting the rate limit? Or maybe I’m missing something obvious?

Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers,

For the API Rate Limit Exceeded issue, I recommend contacting the API provider (the source of this error), whether it’s Estimote Cloud or the third-party service you’re integrating with. From a development perspective, it’s unlikely that this problem is caused by improper integration or script errors.

When you reach out, make sure to provide details about your usage (or use-case/setting currently being use), including your demanded capacity rate. Additionally, request to increase the rate limit to better accommodate your needs.

Short answer: Basically, you’re using their system too heavily and need to negotiate (e.g., with their sales team) to increase your usage load.
