Can't get Notifications work in Swift 3

I’m trying to do the setup tutorials, and Part1, Part2, and Part3, but I can’t get past Part 2, it just doesn’t work. I’m having issues trying to create the notifications. Does anyone have updated Swift 3.0 examples of these Setup Steps.
A request for the Estimote team would be to update the examples with some Swift 3.0 code.

Some of tutorials have not been migrated to Swift 3 yet, however it’s on Estimote’s roadmap. For now, here is an answer how to deal with Swift 3 migration:
