Basic remote administration use case

Hi,

Am I missing something simple?

I have a Proximity beacon configured to broadcast an Eddystone URL packet at a remote location. I would like to be able to change the URL without needing to go to the beacon to do this with the estimote app. When I try to modify the URL remotely, I get the Pending Settings status and this message “Some of your beacons have pending settings. Connect to them with the Estimote iOS Deployment App or the Estimote Android App to apply changes.”

Please let me know if there is a way to do this?

Hi,

I’m not sure I’m understanding well what you want to do, but if you want to change a setting (like the broadcasted URL), you have to connect to the beacon, no?

I understand the logic of it all but wanted to start this conversation to see if other users would want this capability or not?

I feel it would be useful to update the URL remotely once a deployment is made - what are your thoughts?

Oh yes,
I think you could learn interesting things with Estimote meshes and update over mesh.

Definitely something we’re considering!

Yes, they’re already being manufactured, and we should ship the first kits in exactly two weeks (:
