How the frequency of reading temperature sensor affect battery life?

I am writing an app that will read the temperature sensor in beacons frequently everyday. How the frequency of reading temperature sensor affect battery life? If I read the sensor every 2 minutes, how long will be the battery life of that Estimote beacon? We know that broadcasting power and advertising interval will affect battery life. Is frequency of reading sensors an more important factor influencing battery life than broadcasting power and advertising interval. Thanks in advance!

Compared to the regular advertising, connecting to a beacon is a very power-hungry operation. I don’t have any hard numbers, but I’d expect the battery life to go down a lot if you’re connecting to a beacon every two minutes.

Although not helping with the problem at hand, our sticker beacons include the temperature in their advertising packet, no need to connect to the sticker. We’ll likely eventually add a similar advertising packet to our regular beacons.
