Determine when user crosses proximity zones

Hello,

I'm currently trying to develop an Android application using Estimote beacons.
The goal, so far, is to have some sort of feedback when the user enters a beacon's region and then crosses the several proximity zones: far, near and immediate.
How can I achieve this using the Android SDK?
