Android List IDs in Background (as Service)

Hi,

Can I list the beacon ids when the screen is off, i.e. as a service rather than an activity. I am trying to log distances over a number of hours and don't want the phone screen on during this. I don't need to connect, just get the distances and the mac address / id.

Yes, you can. You need to write your own background service that uses beacon ranging.
